"This highly effective, 100% organic biological insect control kills aphids, spider mites, leaf miners, scale, whiteflies and other soft-bodied insects. Used successfully on orchids, roses and houseplants. Hot Pepper Wax is not a poison, but kills insects by destroying their metabolism. The primary active ingredient is Capsaicin which is derived from extremely hot peppers. It is labeled an insect repellent because it leaves a light waxy coating on the plant that is tough for chewing insects to get through. It also has a highly repellent taste. This coating does not interfere with photosynthesis or plug stomata, but does act as an anti-transpirent, protecting the plant from water stress.
